About the Sydenham Conservation Foundation (SCF)

The Sydenham Conservation Foundation (SCF) is a non-profit, non-political charitable organization, incorporated in 1992. Registered with the Canada Revenue Agency, the SCF is dedicated to the conservation of our natural heritage, ensuring tax-deductible donations support our mission. Formed by passionate local conservationists, we strive to protect and preserve public access to environmentally sensitive lands, waters, and forests, to ensure they are protect from ongoing commercial and residential development.

About the Directors of the SCF

The Sydenham Conservation Foundation is proudly run by dedicated volunteers. None of the directors receive compensation of any kind, except for expenses incurred on behalf of the organization (such as paying the property taxes). Our current President, Scott Grimoldby, was elected in 2023, succeeding Bill (William) Douglas, who led with distinction since September 2009. Under Bill's leadership and with the unwavering support of our volunteers, we expanded and maintained our conservation lands. Bill has been an exceptional leader for the organization, however he's decided to enjoy his retirement a little more and allow someone else to step into this role, but remains on the board.

Scott has extensive experience in the non-profit sector, and brings proven dedication, knowledge, and leadership to this role. We are confident that he will continue to build upon Bill's legacy, fostering growth and ensuring the stewardship of our cherished lands.
